How do I program A figure 8 groove on mazatrol??

Hi Figure 8 grooving in bronze bushes.

I have produced a figure 8 groove in a bronze bush bore

1st rough bore to say 0.2 mm from size

2nd program the speed to a set rpm of say 50rpm

3rd use a boring bar with a radius tool +- 1.5 mm (high speed steel) radius positioning it say 3 mm inside the boreand 0.1 mm from the rough bore surface.

3rd command a GOO 0.5 MM deep into the material then rapid G00to within 3 mm of the end of the bush and G00 back to 3 mm of the front and then G00 to clear the bore.

It sounds a bit scary but works well, it may ned a bit of trial and error with RPM to get want you want

the finishing borings bar then machines the bore to size and elimates burrs etc.
