What's the first step in getting a CNC machine working.FACTS:
1. The machine was built from several different pictures I viewed on-line over the last 6 months. It's made primarily of clear plexiglass. It's actually pretty cool looking and came out rather tight.
2. I bought a 3-axis stepper board kit from HobbyCNC. It's all put together and connected to a 500mhz laptop computer and ready to go with small heat sinks on each axis. I also added a 3" computer fan to blow across the heat sinks for added cooling. All test checks according to the instruction guide from HobbyCNC were followed and all voltages appears to be within normal limits.
3. My old 500mhz laptop has BobCAD/CAM installed and working.
So, I guess my question is, what do I do next? I mean, I just want to see this gigantic cutting typwriter's motors spin and rotate through the drive bars. Thank you.
