Just joined and have some questions

John (1) from Vulcan, Alberta, Canada -

First of all I want to thank Dave for the fast service. Ten days from money order to parts at home. Very good for getting through customs that quick.

I am building the Hobbycnc pro 4 axis and would like to make it dual purpose ie foamcutter & mill or router. I am using an old computer flat case for the parts. Will look nice with the monitor on top. The question I have is cabling. I do not want to move it around the shop but run a cable to the machine that I can disconnect. With the kit is 6 wire 22 guage wire unshielded. I have 20 wire 20 guage(metric) that is in a plastic sheathed cable that was for a computor of an xray machine. Can I run this approx. 20 ft with out getting any problems? The other part I would like to use for the system and also the wire heat. It is a DC Internal switching power supply with 2 internal modules and the one module is rated 24 volts 32 amp. After reading the paper work I could be up to a 20 amp supply with larger steppers. The other module I could use for the heat which is (2)12's at 20 amp each. I know it is enough to jump start some heavy equipment but would it work for my purpose?

I have built the board this far and Dave if I could reccomend an addition to your paper work. Add when checking the soldering use a magnifying glass on the front side of the board. As the board is through hole plated it is very easy to see your solder work in the holes for checking. The back is fine but you don't have to preclean before a check. I picked up 2 connections that I did not like. Nicely layed out board and fun to build.

Thanks in advance for any info and I will probably have more questions later.

John
