Coolant not working after Turret realignment

Mike Meyer from Camarillo, California -

I am having a problem with Hardinge Elite 8/51 with Fanuc 21i control.

We had a mild crash and the Turret was out of alignment. I have realigned the Turret and Live tooling. Everything works OK except now there is no coolant flowing out through the tool holder. Coolant pump is on the there is coolant flow but not out the Turret. Does anybody have an Idea what could be wrong? I went through the Sauter and Hardinge manuals but there is not one good diagram of how the coolant flows through the turret.

Comment #1 Mike Meyer from Camarillo, California -

I found my answer.

Sauter who makes the Turret for Hardinge called me back and explained what was wrong. There are 2 rings sandwiched between the Turret Tooling plate and the index spindle of the machine. These rings have the Coolant passages in them. They have spun off alignment and are blocking the coolant from entering the Turret. I have to loosen the Tooling plate and spin these rings back into alignment. If it is the Silver plate then I have to remove the turret and realign the coolant holes.
