| cnc-forum - CNC SoftwareIf i had a little help from you friends
Could anyone please help me with my choice...? I just bought a large 5 (+1)* axis CNC machine (22m x 8m platform) designated for cutting and milling advanced materials (plastics & modern chemicals). I intend to use it for marine mold creation (speedboats, cruisers, sailing yachts etc.). It has already cost me more than a million euro and i don’t have the skills to make it work. I am in desperate need of assistance concerning which software would suit me BEST for what i am trying to do. That is : providing the service of CNC mold creation to local and eastern european boatbuilders that are currently working by hand, maybe a little redesign on their existing CAD designs but not full boat design. As I have already figured i am gonna need a good CAM s/w so that i can import the data to the machine after i acquire them in any CAD format. I had a Delcam, Solid Edge, alphacam and Unigraphics presentation thrown at my eyes, though as i am not skilled enough i cannot distinguish which is best for me. I am also sure that there may be a lot of thigns i should need to know before proceeding to the final purchase... Please any suggestions, comments, (words, phrases anything) are more than welcome. I am searching for personnel as well on a permanent or freelance basis. I am located in Greece if someone would like to come work here. Thank you very much in advance. Comment #1 Pan from Burnt Paradise - i forgot to ask what is a 5 +1 axis machine stands for.. i mean the +1 ? i already had difficulties understanding the 4th and 5th rotating axis...now another one? Thank you for your help. Comment #2 AlpineCNC from Nevada - I design, Build and program these types of machines drop me a note and let me know what kind of help you need.
