setting up an Elu CNC 860

Dwayne Daly from Ireland -

A work colleague of mine purchased an Elu CNC 860 router a few years ago and has never been able to get it working. The reason for this is that no software or instructions were given in any way shape or form with the product and we are now quite stumped as to how we must go about getting this working. So any help on setting it up in relation to software, drivers or using the machine would be greatly appreciated.

Dwayne,

I myself am from ireland and also have an elu 860.

Is the machine in full operational order?.

You will need software such as Artcam or Multicam to create a .cnc file to send to the machines console.

The procedure goes like this.

Create File, Send to Console,

To Execute at console >>

Setup material, bring router bit to material surface as close as possible. Now at Console press ZERO it will ask ALL AXIS, press ENTER/YES. press SELECT PROGRAM at this point by pressing NO this will allow you to search the consoles memory for the file. When found press ENTER/YES console will ask a few STEP BY STEP and somthing else which i can't remember off hand but you press NO these until it asks to execute then you hit ENTER/YES. MAKING SURE ROUTER IS FIRED UP BEFORE PRESSING ENTER/YES.

theres abit more involved in creating the file before you get to sending to the machine.

What part of ireland you from?.

I would first like to thank you for your response. I am from Dundalk and I'm very greatful for your helpful. The machine was bought new (ish) at some degree of trade show (not sure of the finer details) and it didn't come with anything. From this, I'm guessing that the machine itself is in full working order but that whatever cables are required (help here would also be very much appreciated) would be the only thing outside of the software needed. You detailed well the procedure that you need to follow and you have given the name of some possible softwares, so the only thing left for me to find out is how to obtain the connections and whether the computer used needs any special connections or adapters to be connected. Thanking you in advance, Dwayne Daly
