Comment #1 DAVE (2) from HAMDEN,CT -

g76 code will give you a a treading cycle.lets say we were going to turn a .312 /24 tread the code would go like this

x=minor dia. of thread

z=length of thread d=1st pass cut

f=feed per revolution k=depth of thread

d=1st pass cut f=feed per revolution

Comment #2 Jason (71.187.251.174) -

Just use G92, it is a lot easier. a 1/2-20 thread would go as follows

G0 G99 X.55 Z.1

G92 X.46 Z-.75 F.05

X.440

X.425

WORK YOUR WAY DOWN TO MINOR DIA.

G80 G0 X.55 Z.1 M9

Comment #3 Bill from London (80.225.188.161) -

M24 = end chamfering off

G76 X_Z_K_D_F_A_

X = Minor Diameter on OD Threads #

= Major Diameter on ID Threads #

Z = Length of Thread #

K = Depth of the Thread #

D = The number of Passes "cut"

ie (K x K / cuts "you want" square rooted)

F = Pitch mm

E = Pitch ins"

A = Angle of thread 0 to 60 degs

M23 = end chamfering on
